I also wonder what he thinks about everyone getting presents, since the presents were just supposed to be for the baby Jesus. Maybe he'd be okay with it if everyone would just exchange frankincense, myrrh and gold. Personally, I'll just take the gold. The rest of you can keep the frankincense and the myrrh.

He wouldn't think a thing wrong with lavish dinners. He said the poor would always be with us. What you do for the poor is unimportant on Christmas compared to what you do the entire year for the poor. We do all we can, but we can't do everything.

I think that God looks down from Heaven and our prayers of thanks giving for his bountiful provision are a sweet savor in his nostrils. As for people who are starving, at my church we have a ministry called The Bread of Life where we feed poor people in East Palo Alto year round. We also have another ministry where we go out to that city on Sundays and find homeless people on the street and give them food to eat and tell them about opportunities to get into self help programs. Unlike some worldly people who get all sentimental and feel guilty when it comes time for the Christmas season we live our faith out 365 days a year. http://www.alcf.net

Doesn't bother God at all.

Because God hates poor people.

That's why He doesn't let Santa drop off the good toys in the inner-city neighborhoods.
