I want a bird that doesnt make a lot of noise, doesnt carry disease, and is not going to go crazy from being in a cage.

I'd go with David's suggestion! A *pair* of Zebra finches would be fairly quiet, are relatively disease/parasite resistant and do well in smaller size cages. Here's a link for Zebra finch information.

Please do your research. Birds are suppose to make noise. They don't carry disease unless they are exposed to it. You endanger it more than it does you. Always wash your hands before handling your bird.
I don't think anything does well caged 24/7.
There is alot more to having a bird than just putting it in a cage and giving food.
Maybe you should get a turtle.

There is no possible bird that doesn;t make a lot of noise. But I have parakeets and I think they make much a much less mess than bigger avians.

My Answerr is boring: The sparrows. all of the sparrows. i like them b/c they're the only fowl--different than the floor-feeding junco--which will come to the feeder as quickly as I positioned it on the brink of the homestead window. they are not as afraid by way of fact the different, extra clourful birds. I feed the wild birds purely in the wintertime. I stay in a rural area & have found out that procuring feed in the different seasons is purely a waste of $$ by way of fact the birds have plenty foodstuff someplace else that they gained't consume from the feeder, & the foodstuff is going undesirable & I finally end up having to feed the fowl seed to the chickens--layer mash is plenty low-fee than the fowl seed.

Might I suggest a ceramic bird? It would meet your qualifications (quiet, disease free) and you wouldn't even have to buy it a cage, and you could take it places and not have to worry about it flying away

Consider finches. A wide variety of colors is available, and they are the quietest birds I've ever been around. You would need more than one, however.
