They make food specially formulated for puppies, however you might want to try just some meat - like cold cuts, particularly ham or roast beef if you're unable to get some puppy chow for the time being - also mixing some cooked ground beef and rice is pretty good for dogs both big and small. DO NOT - give a dog dairy though, it's very bad for them

Depending on the blend you might end up with a puppy that really has to gorge itself to eat enough. Whatever the case, I use Taste of the Wild, it's high enough protein and fat it can be fed to adults and pups. However, look at the amounts my dogs get... Thyme-- 10lb, 4 year old shih tzu -- 1/2 cup a day Cashew--9lb 8 mo. old shih tzu - 1 cup a day. Yes, the puppy is eating twice as much as the adult dog. When he is about a year old, he will probably eat around 2/3 a cup, and then we'll figure out what he should be getting (I feed my dogs more when they get thin, and less when they get tubby, lol)

Anything that fits into their mouths - but you'd be better off giving them fresh meat like beef, or also some vegetables. There are lots of recipes out there on the web for vegetarian dog treats, or any other kind of dog treats that would be something special for your puppy. --May

if they are really small, less than 3 weeks, you can give gerber!! Or you can mix dog food with gerber or tuna and after they start to eat you start to decrease the amount you mix until they eat only dog food

u cant feed your puppy anything else but puppy food. their digestive systems are not equipped to handle anything else. you could make him sick. puppies are like small children, they will eat anything that taste good too them, but not good for them.
