Baking Mats?

How do you guys feel about baking mats? Do they help ensure even baking for cookies and contain the spreading amount?

I love them! I got Silpat from Williams-Sonoma and have them in all sizes for whatever sheet or pan I'm baking with.

I like those silicon mats - they make clean up really easy:-)
