We met about three years ago..the connection between us was really intense and we became really close really fast...but we were both going through some personal issues so we could never quite get it together...I had a drug addiction which caused him a lot of pain. I moved out of state and since then I have gotten my life together and we have been communicating through e mail...we haven't physically spoken in like two years. I still love him and I want to give us a real chance...so how do I do it???

Why not continue to stay in the "friends" mode for a while? Let it run its natural course, your relationship, that is. ;.D Continue to grow in your own life, and enjoy the communications between the two of you. Don't try to force things to happen, and if it is meant to be, you will know when the time is right. Time allows you to really get to know someone, and their quirks!

find out if he is involved, findout his feelings... and then show him you have ur life together, i am afraid there is not quick way for this, pain caused by watching someone you love go through an addiction is horrible, belive me. So only way to cure this is consant show that your cool, but make sure you dont put urself under intensie pressure buecasue if you recall you went to addiction in the first place becasue of pressure...

well just meet him aomewhere nice and quiet like a nice cafe and tell him how you feel about him and if he still loves you he will also confess to you to. But don't wait too long cause someone else could beat you to him. SO get on the phone or e-mail him telling if he wants to meet.

keep him in your prayers and love him from a distance and 4 ever let the pass stay there but if you must go backwards you 2 should move on new grounds meeting half way not in your town or his a new place that might show who's really for it to begin a new gl

well, you say you're still communicating.

run the idea by him.

I do caution you, though - sometimes people we were with during addiction draw us back into bad habits. I don't know enough about your/his circumstances, but I hope your planned reunion does not entail moving back to the same town/city/neighborhood again. If your new start is going to involve him, it should definitely not involve your old crowd, who will likely try to draw you back to old ways.

Tell him you want to get together with him and talk in person.
Then grab him and hang on...
