oh! and a couple weeks ago she found some safety pins and was writing on her arms with them. Like scraping off her skin with the point to write words.

Your daughter is awfully young, but she is showing symptoms of schizophrenia....She tells you someone is trying to kill her, this is classic paranoid behavior many schizophrenics display.....She may be hearing voices and responding to them, when you say you hear her talking to herself.....Please get her evaluated by a psychiatrist.....SOON....This is a VERY serious illness and she needs help.....The sooner you catch the illness, the better it will be to manage....Best of luck...

It sounds to me like she really needs help. I'm not saying she's psycho or anything, just that she needs help and also may need medication. However, you have played into this by allowing her to continue sleeping in your room at this age. Find a child psychiatrist and get her some help. "Hearing voices" is not normal and there are so many people in prison right now because "the voices" told them to do what they did. This is a VERY real problem. Most children have grown out of the imaginary friend stage by age 7. Please seek help for her.

I would not dare try to diagnose her (like others before me have) because I don't have the proper training. Just seek help before it is too late.

First of all how old is she. If she is not a toddler then you need to seek help for her. Don't ever dismiss your concerns when it come to your child, I don't believe in that stuff, but I have been told it is possible you can have ghosts in your home etc. So please get her help. Believe what she is telling you until otherwise. I may sound like a nut, but I have heard about this too many times. I also know from being young I saw and felt things and now I am older my dad had the same experience, so perhaps it is possible she is seeing things

Lisaten i'm not a psychrist but sounds to me like she needs help, shes only seven and shes all freaked out, either something has happened to her or she has seen something that has totally freaked her out, or she has some kind of special insight, but i have a feeling something has happened to her that your not aware of , you have to take her to talk to someone who can help her, shes very tormented, if this wre a physical pain or cut she would have already seen a doctor, your mind is just as important maybe even more so.....

How old is she?
How long has this been going on?
My neighbor's son did this at the age of 17 and it turned out he was schizophrenic. He saw people who were not there and talked to them. He was terrified that someone was trying to kill him. They finally sought help when he jumped through his bedroom window and broke out the glass just trying to escape the ones he thought were after him.

Your daughter needs some outside help. You might not see what she see, but to her it is very real. So, real till her heart and her mind can't control it, seek help for her soon. I lived through a spell of night terrors when I was her age, and I am 45 now, I still have problems falling asleep and dreading the boogey man. He's real in her mind, and that's all that's important. Don't second quess her, don't patronize her, love her and listen to her.

Thank you for letting her sleep with you. My parents would not allow that, so I waited to they went to sleep, and I would sleep under their bed. Please get her help, I lived through my sleepless nights, but I often wonder what better shape I would have been in "if my parents would gotten me professional help".
I do not talk of this, because I still have terrible feelings and memories of this period of my life, and only 3 people knows of this besides my parents and my brother. Please for her and your sake seek a kind and understanding doctor for her.

My Mother did do two things that did help me. She placed my dresser in front of my double windows, and she let me sleep with the over head light on. I did this for a long period of time, then I went to a lamp, then to a night light, till complete darkness. Please for her don't wait any longer, I sincerely thank you for caring so much and asking advice instead of hiding it in the family closet.

I will be praying for her and your family. God bless us all..........

Sounds like she has some type of psychological problem..or she is trying to get attention. Take her to a Psychiatrist. They can determine what type of problems she's having. Don't ask these knuckleheads on here! Your childs health is too important to rely on unknown, unseen people.

You need to seek help for her because she is paranoid to a degree. You can't ignore it or be afraid to seek help. It will help, it does sound like schizophrenia. I hope you don't worry too much. She will get better.

And why are you in Yahoo asking this question??As a parent I would think that you would set up an appointment with a doctor to get her help.
