Recently its been in the news about a christian who went to iraq and was captured by terrorists. They killed the others he was with but he was rescued. Now they have arrested the terrorists but the christan man refuses to stand against them in court because he says he 'forgives them'. What you do you think about this?

I personally respect his right to his beliefs but by allowing these men to go free they could kill others, also its not his place to forgive what they did to other people.

Any thoughts?

That's turning the other cheek way too far. None the less I commend him for his character, it takes a lot of heart to forgive something like that.

However for the good of others, he should have testified.

Me too.. I'm a Christian as well, but if I was in his shoes, I think I would have to testify. Because you can't just let these men go free - God tells us to respect and preserve human life, and gave us rulers to ensure that is followed, and if terrorists don't abide by those rules, well.... they deserve punishment.

Very interesting.
If a christian forgives a Muslim for causing harm and that Muslim would harm others after this, he will be Judged and punished by God.

Well, it's fine for HIM to forgive them. He can forgive all he wants. But he can't make that choice for his government. THAT is up to them. Interesting moral dilema tho - thanks!
