I know that not all the people around the world believe in God but doesn't that phrase seem too selfish?

Where does it say int eh Bible that God had any other plans for the nations in the last days other than destruction. The terms God Bless America is only a little over 50 years old and was a response to communism. The founding fathers didn't use it and weren't even Christians. They were Deists, believing in the moral teachings of the Bible, but not the miracles.

I agree. we could attempt this slogan: fowl bless united statesa.. No that only would not sound precise. i be conscious of, Hamster bless united statesa.. Nooo that would not ring a stable tone the two. My little techniques is working right here, I have been given it, we are able to alter it thoroughly around to a minimum of a few thing distinctive like: "We individuals hate lack of understanding and are better". That sounds stable (better than Hamster Bless united statesa.) yet i think of this is a splash to long for a slogan. i be conscious of, "We individuals hate all people and have swell Atheist". this is appropriate as this is to the element and has no hidden agendas. Do you no longer agree?

Well, the thing should be: World bless God! In Psalms, it says "Blessed is the nation whose god is the Lord"

it is too selfish even thinking about it
but the person who wrote it does not care about the world but america. if god blesses only america there will still be wars and america will be in danger, but if god blesses the world, there will be peace everywhere and in every single country

Christians who coined the phrase tend to believe that they hold the monopoly on God and that the rest of the world is anti-Christian therefore not "good enough" for God. Thus why would he want to bless them?

What about the Jews in the Middle East? Those were supposed to be God's "favored ones", not other nations or beliefs.

God does not bless any earthly nation. How could he, when the whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one, Satan the devil? Would he give his blessing to nations when they are engaged in warfare against each other, causing death and suffering, including taking the lives of innocent men, women and children? The answer is no.
Satan is in complete control of all governments and false religion. His time is running out and he knows it. His destruction will occur soon, in God's due time. The nations and all false religion, which is under his control, will suffer the same fate. They will be put out of existance.
The only nation which has God's blessing is not a physical nation, but a spiritual nation and it is called spiritual Israel or the Israel of God, made up of a "little flock" of anointed ones who are awarded life as co-rulers with Jesus in his Father's heavenly government.

nope
thanks for asking though
I pray for the world
I hope God will bless our country in several ways:
1) america will act, as a govt, in Godly ways so that we can live in peace in the world
2) that americans will be Godly in their actions towards one another
3) that american freedom and liberty, and all it entails, will be so blessed that other nations will copy it, so their people may be free as well

it's an imperfect country, to be sure, but it's the greatest nation on earth, from a values point of view

peace

I really wish that most people will happily say "God bless the world."
You are right, the early well-wisher were not selfish, but they might fear that mankind were not ready to hear this wonderful wish.
