Are you saying that the US broke a treaty it signed? I'm shocked and I'm sure native Americans would be shocked too.

The rights in that treaty were for Mexican citizens living on the land at that time. They were not, -- I can't even say hereditory, because the children of the Mexican citizens who were here are Americans. The rights did not transfer to people from Mexico who were nowhere near the area in some sort of springing estate to pop up if their progeny ever came up this way.
And as for taking the land, how did Mexico come by it to begin with?
Ask the Apache.

Certainly, any person in the US legally can buy land and call it whatever they want. What's your point? And as has been said so many times, if you dislike us so badly you are welcome to leave. Last I checked, the US Border Patrol was in no way preventing people from leaving the US. Of course, you might have to deal with the much harsher Mexican immigration laws and the far heavier handed Mexican Border Police. I understand they aren't all that particular about the rights and well being of illegal border crossers.
For the rest, that land was paid for and it's ancient history; it was land the Hispanic people stole from the real native americans. What gives the Mexicans any greater rights?

the American govt got the land fare a square. why should we care about the treaty, they come here and totally disrespect all Americans. they even dis the native Americans. we are over populated, does that mean anything to you. the treaty was written how long ago. they don't go by the Constitution of the united states. so screw the treaty. what about all the treaty's that was written with the native Americans. no one takes that into consideration. the govt just threw them on some land.
eventually the world will be finding for it self. with all the crazy people running around. this world has gone to the dogs.

If this land that now belongs to the US was never taken from the Mexican government, there wouldnt be a debate here, because no one would be interested in being here as they are now. Illegal aliens would still be crossing into whatever territory was more self serving for them!. People can survive in mexico, they just prefer to live the ritzy life in America, just like drug lords can survive working a legitamate job, they just prefer to live the way they do and have no morals or conscience to live the right way or do the right things!

If you love Mexico so much why don't you just go and live there. I really am tired of you trying to push this crap you are spewing out. When will you get it through your thick head that we the people of the United States of America own the land we have and will not give an inch to another country. If I saw you on the street I would slap the taste out of your mouth!
Oh and by the way, that treaty and all it's agreements went out the window when Mexico allowed Napoleon's Army to set up down there to try and invade after the Civil war. You consort with the enemy then you lose.

Woodlander, if you care so much about Mexico, get on ye Greyhound bus, and go fix the place. You're the expert, so go show em how it's done. Or, failing that, at least end the sob story.
The US-Mexico war ended a long time ago. You just failed to learn about it. Stop being a sympathizer/apologist for lost causes, REALLY show how smart you are, and go build a hospital in Mexico or something. If the welfare of the people of Mexico is really your main concern here, then go take care of em.
Meanwhile I'm going to keep pushing for the construction of that border fence. Mainly, so people like you can find the borderline, 'cause you obviously can't read a map...

OK.. whatever... we bought the land for about 15 million dollars.. do you have any idea how much 15 million dollars was back in the 1800s.. I don't even think I could guess how much that would be in today's money... it was not a forced sell otherwise.. we would have said.. here's a couple of thousand for your losses.. see ya.. also.. my friend we gave the Mexicans living there at the time the option of either staying here and becoming citizens or going back to Mexico.. most of them stayed- it's not like we kicked them out of their homes and their land... so no we didn't take their land.. we bought and paid for it.. it's ours now.. have a nice day

The entire country is built that way. We took most of the land from Native Americans. These people got even less for their land from the white man - they simply got killed for objecting.
