Mark was there. He was not a disciple ,but a teen following the group. When the Jewish guard came to arrest them, they tried to grab Mark but he spun away and they tore his tunic off and he fled in his gird(Jockey Shorts).See Mark 15 & 16.There was also always agroup of Disciples around them who were not the "inner circle "of 12,Jesus usually traveled with 50 or 60 people around, including, the women.I'm not upset,it's just that people love to jump before studying ALL the scripture.

There was a teenager that followed Jesus and His disciples around. He was not part of the inner circle, but was close enough to see and hear what was going on. This is evident from later on in the same account. He is the young man who fled and a Roman soldier ripped his coat off while attempting to apprehend him. His name was Matthew, and he wrote the first book in the New Testament.

Maybe he left a Post It with his prayer written on it ;)
From a completely logically standpoint, I can't think of an explanation other than mistranslation or a disciple was resting (but not asleep) and overheard. From a religious standpoint, God could have told the writer. Your guess is as good as anyone else's.

Maybe He told the disciples after He was risen, or maybe it was simply given by divine revelation.

Mark was telling the story. He was not asleep. It was Peter, James and John who was asleep. Good try but no cigar.

Someone was just half sleeping. You are not upsetting me, I understand what you are saying. There was one who was not asleep. He betrayed him.
