Although Duran is among my favorites, I would personally rate Julio Cesar Chavez as the best.
If you're looking for current fighters along the lines of Duran, though, you may also want to check out Jorge Arce and Juan Diaz. I don't think any of their fights would disappoint you. ;D

Mr. No Mas No Mas?? No..... I`ll consider him one of the legends of Boxing of all time, but not THE best.
To me, Sugar Robinson is the best in All Times...even The great Ali has stated in interviews that, Robinson was the the only man that he looked up to, copied his style from, and could beat Ali if Robinson was a heavyweight.
The best doesn`t quit like Duran did, but i give Duran credit for being a tough guy who loved to trade and he always fought the best. He also gets alot of crdit for nearly being unbeatable for 13 years reaching a peak record of 72-1 with 56 knockouts, during which time he reigned undefeated as world lightweight champion for 6 years and also won the world welterweight title. Duran was a 4 divisional champion, lightweight (1972-79), welterweight (1980), junior middleweight (1983) and middleweight (1989-90). At his best as lightweight king he successfully defended the title 12 times, 11 by knockout. In his career he stopped 21 opponents in the first round, 31 within the first 3 rounds. He fought until the age of 50 with a final career record of 103-16 (70 KOs).

Duran was very special, the Hagler fight was close and Hagler was a true Middleweight, Duran was at his best at lightweight and moved up in weight after his prime to defeat Palomino, Cuevas ,Leonard, Barkley, Moore. My opinion is Duran the best lightweight ever and overall top 25 for sure maybe top 15.

I disagree, but you can make a compelling case for Duran. In the end, the fact that Leonard beat him twice, Hearns stopped him cold in two and Hagler boxed circles around him logically eliminates him from that title.
Hatton you can't mention in the same breath as Duran.

He may be the best you ever saw but he definitely not the best I ever saw or that the world has ever seen. You are entitled to your opinion but not to your own set of facts.
What about Leonard who beat him twice, Hearns who KO'ed him and Hagler who beat him? Not to mention Ali, Robinson and Louis.
