Just as a word of caution, the Clean Water Act is very superficial when it comes to protecting wetlands. You should look at your State Law if you need to find something more comprehensive in protecting wetlands.

1.Billions Spent to Protect and Recover Wetlands
Recognizing the importance of waterfowl and wetlands to North Americans and the need for international cooperation to help in the recovery of this shared resource, U.S. and Canada developed and signed the North American Waterfowl Management Plan in 1986. Mexico joined in 1993. The three countries have since spent $4.5 billion protecting some 15 million acres of wetlands in jeopardy across the continent.

Yes there are many laws to protect wetlands. Do a little research. The answers given to your question are good but generally i wouldnt trust very many of the answers found on Yahoo answers. It seems a lot of morons answer questions here that they know less than nothing pertaining to the subject.

Endangered Species Laws?
Environmental Protection Act?

Search for website for NASA/Johnson Space Center in Houston.
They have educational outreach on some of these
because they are partnering to save species on land they own.

Look up Nature Conservancy
Conservation International (Harrison Ford)
Rainforest Foundation (Sting)
