Fiesta. It might be a Dagenham Dustbin but it is reliable. Fiat stands for fix it today ... fix it again tomorrow. Trust me I have experience of both cars and the fiesta wins hands down... No contest.

Well, - I'm not "truned on", by either, -- but I wouldn't let them "give" me a Fiat! In "my book" Fiat is a 4 letter word, I liked them so well. - that when my boss became a Fiat dealer, - I quit 35 years of "foreign car mechanic" work. And went into another profession (aircraft), - though I still restored Mercedes on the side for another 20 years!

If the car was actulaly given to you, it would probably cost you more to own that the Ford, - sale price and all! .... However you will always be in prime shape (from walking)!

PS I still "restore cars", but now don't work with anything less than 50 years old (except for my own, and extended family -13 grandkids).

However all that said, - I would try to find something better than that model ford! _______________ My best Ford was built in 1922!!

From experience know that Ford parts/repairs are much cheaper than Fiat so no contest would go for the Ford Fiesta - hope this helps.

I'd say neither. The Fiat will be much better to drive, they do good chassis and handling systems, but aren't what you call well-built, and the Fiesta is fairly well-built but very dull. They really are like driving in a piece of coal.

Do yourself a favour and buy an MG ZR or Alfa 147 instead. The MG ZR was fun and is one of the few products of MG/Rover that had good solid engines that worked well or the Alfa that will probably give mechanical problems but is a fantastic car to drive. they can offer as much excitement as a Ferrari 575 for a fraction of the price. The feeling of extasy of when an Alfa works completly properly makes the whole pain of ownership worthwhile!!

At least Ford is repairable .
Strangely enough i also know a mechanic that quit after 15 years in the same firm because they took on a fiat agency.
He told me they were impossible to work on.
Personally i would buy Japanese ,Then you would be guaranteed minimum problems.
