Yes I am always getting people who invade my space!
It is kind of normal for parents to do that kind of stuff. They are people who have the power to do that. Don't as me why but I hate it most of the time. If your parent does read your diary then they probablly want to know what is going on in your life.

Ah! That's sick! Parents should not be reading their child's Diary. That is their own personal thoughts, that no one not even a parent should see. I mean my mom has asked my friends when I'm not around if I do drugs, drink, or what the girl I like is like. But she never enters my personal thoughts in any form. Parents just need to butt out, if the child wants to talk about it, then they will, there is no need to just snoop around.

I used to catch my step dad looking through everything! Even my books. The only thing he could complain about was the bookes I was reading. It got on my nerves, it was like he was always trying to catch me doing something wrong! It's been 10 yrs but it still makes me mad! He read my journal too, I made sure to put a lot of stuff in there like how I thought he was a weirdo. (haha just to make him mad). I would never do it unless my child was in trouble and I would feel bad for reading it!

Yes and I am the parent. When my daughter left for abroad I had the task of cleaning her closet and I found this diary hidden under her clothes. Out of curiosity I opened and read it and it was very informative. I read things we were not aware about like my daughter having a secret love affair. I also discovered the identity of the guy and his address which was very useful. for us to locate him. When we had him investigated we found out he was still married and my daughter was not aware of it. It was a blessing that I read and found out about it before it was too late to do anything it. At first my daughter got mad at me for invading her privacy but due to her carelessness for not locking it away in a safe place it was a blessing for all of us. Sometimes it pays to be curious or inquisitive. After the painful revelation she has now broken up with him.and she is grateful to me.

i personally don't think parents should snoop through our things if they really wanted to no our opinions they should just ask us. My parentd have never done this before and im glad i can trust them but then again i will never no if they do or not.
