Baby dolls, Mega Blocks, Activity Center, One of those electronic books like baby leap frog or pad. Or anything that deals with the learning ability for a child, leap frog has all different types of learning stuff. A piano, a puzzle that is wood that makes sounds when the right piece is placed.

They make a really cute "Elmo purse." It's a big plastic looking Elmo purse with a big fake lipstick, change purse, and a few other items. My 1 year old niece LOVES this toy she got for her first birthday.

well a 1 yr old girl.. i don't think a doll is good idea.. coz she is too little to know how 2 play wit it.. i would buy her nice clothes. u could also buy a bracelet wit her name on it

my daughter turned one a month ago, and she got a small rocking horse, lots of soft dolls, clothes, and a Fisher Price Drop and Roll Dinosaur you can buy from Target.

I would get her a bag of Mega Blocks... These will help her with hand and eye coordination, and will last through her toddler hood!

12 month olds like toys that fit inside each other, like pots and pans; nursery rhymes; and like pull toys as soon as they start to walk. Many like to listen to music as well.
