it's definitely not rude! Tell them if they don't want to take care of the puppies, you'll be more than happy to take them to a shelter. tell them if you wanted puppies, you'd have gotten them yourself, but their "gift" is just not appreciated. You should not be expected to pick up someone else's slack! Besides, their other dog is in chicken wire?!? that's not fair to the other dog at all! Apparently they don't care about their animals, so I would definitely say something. it'd be in the best interest of the dogs and you.

No, it is not rude of you, but your neighbors are really ignorant. I am almost positive that there are leash laws in every state(I have not researched this thoroughly) so their dogs should not be running at large at all. The fact that you have not spoken with these neighbors before and you are not friendly with one another and they see the dogs in your yard and do nothing that speaks volumes about the type of people they are. I would tell them to secure their dogs and if they do not or are not willing I would call animal control and have the dogs picked up. Trust me it is the right thing to do because since the dogs are running loose more can happen to them than just aggravating a neighbor, they can get hit by a car or numerous other bad things can happen. Not to mention they could become menaces.

No, it isn't rude. Go over and politely ask if they know that their dogs spend a lot of time in your yard. Indicate that you are worried about them, fear that they might be hit by a car, they make a mess in your flower beds, etc., whatever might work. If that doesn't work, then you may have to go the next step and ask them to keep their dogs at home. Final resort, take the puppies to the SPCA. Unfortunately, this problem is rather common and too many people who don't want to be responsible are dog owners.

I would put a slip lead around one of the dogs and take it over - very sweetly and say "Hi I'm "Sally" your neighbor, your dog must have escaped - he was in my yard and I wanted to return him before he got lost or into trouble"
That's how I'd handle it the first time - maybe they will get the hint. If not - then you can start being more forceful.

This would be a good chance to meet your neighbors! Approach them as a dog lover yourself...and with the assumption that they are not aware that their dogs are in your yard. Just tell them that you just want to let them know that their dogs are in your yard so they can fix the fence or whatever they need to do to keep them out.

You have every right to talk to them about keeping their dogs off your property. Most communities also have leash laws that require dog owners to keep their animals under control at all times when outdoors. Good Luck.

Ask them if they have been missing their dogs? and tell them the situation..but, there is no reason to be rude, unless they become belligerent...It is important to keep good relations with the neighbors...very important..
You might begin the conversation by asking if their dogs are vaccintated, as you are concerned about your familiy's safety..

Either that or call your cities animal control officer let him deal with it, but either way you go will no doubt make them upset.
