Ok off of my other question I found the experation date and it was back in 04, so is it still ok to use or what does it mean when it expires.

I have no problem buying a new one i just don't realy see why they expire when they have the same type on shelfs at stores, they look diffrent but are the same style. Trust me I am going out to buy her a new one today, just a question I am asking that is all

It means the belts get old, stretched & weak making it not safe for your child. Get another on regardless of all the genius answers your going to get.

NO! The plastic breaks down over time and after the expiration date, if you try to use the seat and are involved in a collision the seat could break apart and injure or kill the baby. Best to get a new one.

NO NO NO! An expired car seat might not meet current guidelines for a safe seat! Definatly get a new one!

I had no idea they expired, where on the seat does it have a date?

No! It needs to be up-to-date since laws and requirements change to protect your child even more. I know they're expensive but this is really important.

If it looks fine and sturdy, I don't see why not. That's weird

that they say it "expired."

if it is older than 5 yr you can't use it
