My husband is allergic to mushrooms. Therefore he cant eat the green bean casserole. Is there a substitution for the cream of mushroom? Would cream of chicken work? Thanks.

I particularly have oftentimes subbed the different 'cream of' soup and extra some sliced mushrooms. oftentimes, people will ask your self what the different style is, or did I prepare dinner the golf green beans in somethinf different than water. you may even attempt a bique or a thick New England sort Clam Chowder. consistently test and you will come across a advantageous replace. there is not any longer something better than stumbling upon some thing you may call your man or woman interior the kitchen...properly, very practically. My husband HATES mushrooms. I would use cream of chicken instead. Or try french onion soup (powdered)made w/half water and half cream, and throw in alittle butter . then thicken it up with flour. That will add nice flavor too.

Yes! Cream of chicken would work great! So would cream of celery, that would be the best.

Cream of chicken OR celery would work, but have a slightly different taste.

Frankly, no matter which variety you choose, they all have the same problem: they taste just like condensed canned soup.

Make a white sauce and flavor it with bacon, or sharp cheddar, or herbs, and use that, instead.

Your idea sounds better to me. We just had it the other night and I think it would have been better with chicken flavor.

I'd go with that - or onion gravy.
