This isn't a joke but it was pretty funny experience.
Our family was walking along and there was this woman that had like 6 children walking in front of us.
One of her daughters which looked to be about 4 got a bit far ahead of her.
All of the sudden she hollered, " Come here before somebody knocks you in the head and takes your shoes!"
I couldn't help but laugh We all did~
But I am curious
Was she worried about the $100 shoes more than her child
Or did she figure it was ok for someone to take her daughter because she had 5 more.
I had never in my 34 years heard someone say that to there child!!

funny!!!!!! The fact that the woman had 6 children i am thinking probably she will be saving that pair of shoes for the youngest daughter when she (the 4 year old) out grow that pair. Maybe she is also a single parent, so we have to look on the situation from all angles.

It is just using that as an excuse and a way to scare the child.
Possibly they were her new or fave shoes and she cherished them
We often say things like "If you do that, we will have to give your fave toy away to someone who deserves it"
