im goiing out with some friends and a boy i like but my hair is a mess what do i do?

clean and blow dry it. (blow drying makes it shinier, straighter, more in place)

if it's greasy and you don't have time to shower: use a little talcum powder and put on a head band. (for the future: go to a drug store and get this product called "pssst" it's a spray shampoo. works soooo well.
-or- put it in a low pony tail, wrap it around the base of the pony tail and secure with an elastic. secure with bobby pins and clips. instant messy bun!

part it and braid it.

pigtails are cute and in again!

straighten it! (if you don't have a straightener... use a hairdryer and a brush and put some hair in the brush, hold it out, and blow dry straight. OR use a curler and start at your scalp, and take it down to the bottom. but DON'T wrap it around. it will make your hair straighter!)

do a part NOT in the middle and pull back each side with two bobby pins (criss-cross them over each other to secure them)

Here are some quick hairstyles
- You can try doing it scrunch and up in a high ponytail.

- A low ponytail parted deep on one side always looks cute and is simple

- Messy ponytail with a slight pump always does the trick or half up half down with a slight pump works well also.

- You could try a loose relaxed bed-head look, ruffle your fingers through your hair with some moose or whatever and tie back loosely into a ponytail. Pull some hair across your forehead and pin behind your ear, or just have a side fringe.

- You could do a double ponytail. It looks really chic and cool, especially if your hair’s straight. What you do is divide your hair into two sections, top and bottom, as if you were just putting your hair half up. Take the top section and put it into a ponytail.
