it looks like it is going to need to be repaired, i have been thinking about just trying to get rid of it but i'm not sure how i can do so without losing alot of money. what are some ideas other than the obvious solutions of getting it repaired or selling it? does anyone have any experiences with trade ins etc?

Without knowing the mileage on the vehicle, and the repairs needed, it is had to put a value on it. In average condition (not needing major work, but not perfect) with under 100K miles, the jeep should be worth somewhere in the area of $4250 to $5000. A lot will depend on condition, and if it is a hard or soft top.

A dealer will only pay wholesale for the car. They may play with the price of the new vehicle and tell you you are getting more, but in reality you only get wholesale! You are close to the break even point on your jeep now. Have it fixed and keep it until you have paid the balance down to where you owe less than the vehicle is worth.

you are whats known as upside down, you owe more than it is worth, even repaired.. if your credit is good a dealer will get you into a new model by tacking the balance of what you owe on to the new loan [all this does is give you a working car that you will pay 6500 + interest over the cost of the new car] so my personal reccomendation is to fix your jeep and drive it these are solid trucksand will last you a long time if given proper care.

A dealer won't give you enough for it -you will definitely lose money there= jeeps tend to hold their value a bit better than most= and there are those that will pay=because they are jeep people= it also depends on the cost of the repairs you need=D

jeeps hold their value pretty good especially wranglers....depending on what is wrong with it and how much you like it and the cost of the repair has alot to do with what you want to do with it. me personally I would never sell my JEEP and get it fixed!

Fill up the back with about $4500 in gold coins and you should get $6500 for it.
