Planning on going to Lake Tahoe in Feb with a group of friends who are big on skiing/snowboarding. I've never been there before and I'm not big on skiing so I'm looking for recommendations for other things for me to do there. I'm also interested in nightlife activities, restaurants, etc. Thanks!

i agree, heavenly is beautiful! i've gotten to stay there only once. this is on the south shore. i usually stay north shore, in truckee. less gambly up there because its california. and imho better ski resorts.

even if you dont ski, you can take a scenic gondola ride to the top of the mountain to lounge around at the ski lodge sipping your cocoa waiting for your friends to ski/board. the one at squaw is unbelievable. i hear the one at northstar is beautiful too, i'm going to try that one as next month, in december.

if you will have a car, just driving around part of the lake is rewarding. try to make it out out to emerald bay (south shore). you will not be disappointed. i grew up in california, and EB still takes my breath away. (dinner at the Cantina if you go there)

i feel that the entertainment at the shows in tahoe are kinda lame and cheesy, but you might feel different. a day trip to reno might be worth it, you can usually catch a big name act there, or have fun walking around the casinos (circus circus if fun, and silver legacy has a neat atmosphere) um, what else? Reno has a big huge shopping mall....

if youre going to be on north shore, a fancy sunday brunch at garwoods, a restaraunt with a view right on the lake will make for special memories.

ok yeah, i came on this website in search of stuff about san diego and have totally veered off okay good bye.

Lake Tahoe is one of the few places in the U.S. that has a totally interesting history. Go to one of the Historical History sites available, they are all over and enjoy yourself. Interesting facts about the beginnings of Stateline and Lake Tahoe that go back several hundreds of years. For nightlife, any of the Casinos that have great Rock n' Roll, like the Hard Rock Cafe.

I went to lake tahoe a month ago it was fun. You should stay in an area called heavenly. It's so much fun skiing and snow boarding there especially up in the mountains.
