ft3535 is closest but it is not what you think, nothing like you think. A language would helpful and you need to start at a early age, we will interview you at graduation we do take applications look in the NY Time week-end after next but it runs almost all the time. There are so many agencies all doing the same thing no one knows what they are doing but most but not all are listed below. Three of the main teaching sites are at Camp Perry, Va; School of the Soldier at Fort Brag, NC; and Hertford, NC.

Three of the best methods to ensure a job are join the military and take the language school at the Defense Language Institute (FARSI or Chinese) you'll get an Associated Degree and a job with one of them as a language expert; the State Department or join after college and ft3535 is right there can NEVER have tried drugs, been arrested, not even a traffic ticket and sometimes even no illicit sex (I know someone who was rejected for having sex outside of their marriage). Make it four methods go Delta force (ha) and switch over (everything else I mentioned still applies).

God Bless You and The Southern People.

For those that don't know a spook is a real term for the CIA. Every department in the federal government was given a five letter random code. For instance, a department could be listed as FFGHZ. This was to make it easier to hide the real black ops stuff from spies. When the CIA got their letters, it was SPOOK. Yes people thought it was suspicious, but the cool factor overroad those suspicions.

You have to have something of value to work for the CIA. This could include knowledge in science, a foriegn language, knowlege of interworking of an enemy organization ect. Right now Arabic speakers and readers are in high demand. You just go to their office, fill out a resume and they will contact you. Very few agents are the James Bond type. Most just read foriegn newspapers, keep in contact with foriegn governments, update maps etc.

I assume you are talking about the spy business. Check out the CIA, NSA, MI-5 (or 6), or the U.S. State Department (to name just a few).

Probably the best route to get into intelligence work is to either:

1. Join the military, and be trained in military intelligence

or

2. Become fluent (like native-speaker fluent) in a foreign language, particularly a Middle-Eastern or Asian Language, and then apply at one of the many intelligence organizations.

Also, see if you can get a copy of this book:

"The Spymaster's Handbook" by Michael Kurland, 1988, Facts On File Publications.

First spook is a southern slang word for ghost. nothing else. Regardless of what you've heard. So you don't have to train to be dead. It's a natural for us all.
