I was a pretty skinny teenager, but now at 20, I'm trying to and succeeding in gaining weight, but I've noticed that most of the weight or fat I've gained (by eating random food, mostly fast food) goes to my stomach. Shouldn't my WHOLE body adjust to getting fatter instead of just my stomach? I never really noticed it until now, after I wore a thin tight-stretchy sweatshirt. I looked like I was pregnant... so, for those nutritionists and/or trainers out there, what can I do to get rid of this quick? (in a natural way.) Any excercises I can do that are 100% effective?

Anyway, to answer some possible suggestions: I can't go to the gym because I don't have a membership - no money. I also realize that I'm a guy, but guys need to think about their health and appearance as well. As for my food planning or "diet", I don't really have one - I try to eat vegetables but I was raised eating meat, and I can't even find good/healthy types of meals with meat.

Thanks in advance everyone.

Hi

I'm a personal trainer so here's the answer why...

If you are consuming more calories than you are burning then your body converts the extra into fat. In guys fat is first deposited on the belly (in girls it's first deposited on the thighs and butt) - the reason for this is human biology, put simply your body stores fat as far away from the vital organs in the body as possible (ie away from the heart, lungs etc - the reason it goes onto girls' thighs first is because the body needs to keep it away from the ovaries and uterus etc). If you keep getting fatter then you will find that other parts of your body start fattening up because your body deposits fat in a particular order... Anyway that answers your first question.

Reading some of the other posts about getting rid off fat from your stomach by doing sit ups etc that's rubbish (sorry people...) The reason for this is you can't do 'spot reduction' as we trainers call it - in short you can't get rid of fat in a particular place on your body by excersisng that spot. To get rid of your belly you have to be in a state of calorie defecit - you can do this through excersicing more or changing your diet and you will then find that the fat disappears in the reverse order to which it was laid down (ie your belly is the first to get fatter and the last to loose it... :( )

As for not being able to excersice because you aren't a member of a gym that doesn't matter - running, cycling, walking etc are all free - you just need to work more cardio style/ weights etc into your normal daily outine - ie: take the stairs not the lift, walk to the shops, don't drive etc etc - there are so many things you can do

hope that answers your question

Well the human body stores fat on the stomach and butt and legs first ( in most people anyway) and then the fat spreads when the the body feels that those areas have enough storage ift sends it to other areas but when that happens you are usually more over weight then you would want to be. So be careful and I have a killer digestive system so I am a skinny twenty year old also so I really don't have any diet tips that would get rid of fat because I never had to. But be careful you don't want to eat yourself death. Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!

just because you are eating does not mean your whole body will gain bulk. You still need to eat well. In order to gain weight that looks good you need to exercise on a regualr basis. A quick easy way to loose weight around you ab. are sit-ups, leg lifts and running. A good routine would consist of about 30 minutes of ab related work outs daily and jogging monday wed. and friday. You will notice that your body will become more toned the more you run. The ab work will help loose the fat around your waist and the running will keep the fat away.

Sadly, you can't lose fat from a specific part of your body - your body puts fat where it wants to (there seem to be genetic factors that determine where this is...at any rate, you can't control this :( ) Abdominal exercises (e.g. sit-ups, back raises etc) will help build up muscle in that part of your body, but 'spot losing' fat isn't possible.

The 100% effective (or near enough) way to lose weight is to consume fewer calories than you burn off - i.e. eat fewer calories and exercise more. Running, cycling etc. exercises are all free, and will help; try to cut out the junk food and eat more fruit, veg, fish and lean meat (cooking for yourself might actually save you money). Some kind of weight-bearing exercise is also a good idea to build muscle mass - maybe try to put together a fairly 'balanced' programme of exercises like push-ups, squats etc. that use your own body weight. Alternatively, may be able to get a cheap set of dumbells (a case of water or beer can make a nice weight to add to squats, as well). Figure on losing one or two pounds per week.

In terms of diet, you could try spending your weeks' food budget on buying healthier foods - fruit, veg, fish, lean meat etc. This will give you plenty of motivation to learn to cook quickly, and if you've got no other food to eat then you may surprise yourself with how quickly hunger can drive you to try new things ;)

In terms of healthy meat dishes, maybe try things like grilled lean chicken breast, burgers made from lean steak mince etc. FIsh like tuna or shark are also quite meaty-tasting, and are nice just simply grilled. Game meats are also low fat, and things like rabbit can be cheap-ish if you find a friendly butcher or hunter...

Hi,
I've tried all different diets, and the weight loss is only temporary. I finally tried diet pills on the market are made from Hoodia. I saw this stuff on ABC News. It's all natural and safe, and it works! My wife took it for a month and dropped 20 pounds. I took it for a month and lost about 13 (but I didn't exercise).

I bought the natural hoodia from this website: http://www.alllsite.info/free-diet-pills.php . I checked the web site address so I can post it here and I saw they're running a promotion now to get a free 2 week sample for only $4.97! I'm going to order this supply for my wife and give it to her for Christmas =)

When you start gaining weight, the first place it goes is the stomach, then will begin to distribute itself in other parts of the body. You need to do some stomach exercises.

Best wishes.

You can stop fat from accumulating around the abdomen by eliminating or strictly limiting refined processed carbohydrates. Replace these foods with nutritious 'fat burning' foods.

Crunches are great for getting rid of the belly fat and getting some nice toned muscles there also.

In the mood for some sort of hot meal? Make a enormous pot of veggie bean soups, divide into two-cup containers, and store within the freezer. Before bed, place a container from the fridge, then grab it before heading out the door every day.
