its the salt that he is looking for and to the one that said dont let your dog lick you is wrong a dog has less bacteria then a human does in there mouths

I suggest you wash you face, and wash your carpet. She could just be kissing you and loving you but she is also licking the carpet. It shows that she likes the taste of whatever is on the carpet , whether it is just the carpet, or whether you spilled something. There is nothing wrong with it. Lots of dogs like to lick stuff. Just make sure she doesn't get into the habit of licking things on walks or outside, as they could contain bacteria and germs.
And with your face, do you wear any sorts of creams, if you do your dog is most likely licking them off your face which is probably not good for them. Or you could just have food on your face, which the dog find appetizing. Or she could just love you. Is it just you she licks or does she kiss everyone in your family or anyone? If its the later then she is just a loving dog.

If she licks you that's phine but the carpet. If the dog keeps licking the carpet she will start biting it so by a new carpet that she may not like to lick. You probably spilt crumbs.

Well it's completely normal for a dog to lick YOU.... but the carpet!? Perhaps she likes the texture of the carpet on her tongue, or something.

Get her something to chew that's tasty - dogs that get fed on boring old muesli stuff are dying for something nice - perhaps yours is one of these and licks you and the carpet for a change!

This is normal a dog likes to lick things to get to know its surroundings and of course its a sign of affection towards you dont worry about it
