it seems like a cool place to hang out. there's a variety of restaurants and places to shop. it's kind of an outdoor mall. I, being a teenager, wouldn't mind going there to eat and chill. but the city walk is kind of far from neighborhoods and i wouldn't recommend you hanging around there if you live pretty far away. but it's a nice place to visit once in a while.

Universal and Disney are about 38 miles apart. And getting from one to the other is not easy. You could take the Metro Red Line from Universal to Union Station, then take a Metrolink or Amtrak to the Anaheim Station by Anaheim Stadium. From there, you can take an ARTS or OCTA bus to Disneyland. However, the last train back to LA leaves rather early, around 5 or 6 PM, which means you'll miss the fireworks. You could also take a Metro Bus, but that takes 2-3 hours or more. My advice is to stay around Hollywood one day, and Anaheim the next. In Hollywood, I recommend the Orchid Suites, Hollywood Celebrity Hotel, or Holiday Inn Walk of Fame, all near Hollywood and Highland. In Anaheim, I recommend the Howard Johnson (HoJo) Anaheim, and the Candy Cane Inn.

I think it's fun but you get sick of it quick. I used to live close to Universal and we would hang out at Howl at the Moon and the Saddle Ranch. I no longer want to go there because it's so incredibly crowded and the neon lights make my head hurt!

No, it's too cookie-cutter and full of tourists. There are better places to hang out in the LA area.
