It is not an E. coli thing -- it is probably just a torn hemorrhoid vein. It should heal up quickly, but may recur from time to time if you pass a particularly large or hard stool.

Like everyone else is saying it could be hemmroids. Best bet is to go see a doctor since it's just blood. Drink plenty of liquids get plenty of fiber, it might be that your just straining hard when your pushing the poop poo out. (LOL BUT SO TRUE). Once you have dark poop, it means your bleeding internally, and then that would be worse. So seriously go get yourself checked out.

unless you have blood every time you go to the bathroom , don't worry about it. also since it was bright red, did you eat anything in the last couple of days that may have been red? it could be just some undigested food. also any kind of red sauce you may have eaten will sometimes make your stool reddish.

Sounds like cancer or maybe hemmoroids. Go see a doctor, quick!

It could also mean you have a bleeding hemorrhoid or even colon cancer.

Go see a doctor.
