With Windows XP, just put a blank CD in the appropriate drive and "drag and drop" the pictures there you want copied. I've found that CDr (CD disks that are read-only once they are burned) make more durable and reliable backup copies than the CDrw disks (the CDs that allow data to be erased and overwritten).

Assuming you have a camera with a removable memory card, you can take the memory to photo places like a Wal Mart's photo department, and have the pictures transferred to CD there. The local Wal Mart charges just under $3 (before tax) to transfer pictures to CD. Typically you have the option of using Wal Mart's 1-hour kiosk to do the transfer, or you use a nearby Kodak "Image Maker" kiosk to burn a CD immediately without the hour wait. (Same price, locally.) I've used this method when I my computer was on fritz, and needed to archive photos from my camera to free up room in camera memory.

Another possibility for storage: several sites, including photos.yahoo.com , offer lots of free on line photo storage. You'll need a decent broadband connection to transfer pictures to on line sites, though. The on line photo storage sites are worth looking into anyway, at least for use as a temporary storage for memory overflow and such....

You don't need a program. Just put in a CD and then highlight the fles you want on CD. While the files are selected hold down Cntl plus C for copy. Click on your CD Rom Drive under my Computer and hold down Cntl plus V for paste. This will build a list for you to write on CD.. Then click on the Files To Be Written to CD and it starts burning the files onto CD.

assuming the CD and DVD drives you're utilizing are the kind that list, then it appears like a software issue. Vista and 7 operating structures can manage CD-R and DVD-R consisting of the RW sorts right away, as if they're only yet another problematical force. if you're utilizing XP or ninety 8, then you favor third party burning software like Nero or Roxio. those courses purely artwork with particular fashions of drives and there may an incompatibility difficulty.
