As you were never born in the first place, why be concerned about what happens after your death? That is liberation.

In the upanishads, IMHO, the utlimate aim of a soul is Moksha (cognate to the Buddhist concept of Nirvana) or Enlightment. It refers to the dissolutionof sorts of the ego from the bondage of Maya. Various schools of Vedanta have viewed the concept of Moksha is diverse ways, however the common theme has been to identify ones self with the transcendant Brahman. Rabindranath Tagore in his own inimitable way had paraphrased the end-game thus: (perhaps as God speaking to an persevering soul)
"Thou givest thyself to me in love and then feelest thine own entire sweetness in me"

That is a good question. Liberated beings tell you that when you attain the state of liberation there is the realization that you are and always have been eternal, that you yourself are the highest truth, and there is nothing else to be attained. All your journeying is over and you.will no longer be drawn back to taking another body.
