INDONESIA....
INDONESIA have more than 20 000 islands....u can choose one as u want.
we have so many beautifull island and beach..
bali island, lombok , sulawesi island, sumatra island, even we have island in the middle of island in north sumatra...its called samosir island...

The Philippines, silly.
We still have more than 2000 islands out of 7107, which are probably un-inhabited.
Thailand and Malaysia are for tenderfoots who need commercial tourism and tourist police and Mcdonalds on every corner.
It's horrible, at least here in P.I. you'll be able to get away from the very few madding crowds that you might come across.
Boracay is horrrible now unless you like hassles and non-stop noise, but there's loads more places, especially around the Calamian group of northern Palawan, and the islands north of Boracay like Romblon, Banton, Marinduque and even Carabao.
Don't be a tourist, become an adventurer!

I'm not very sure about Thailand, but I know Malaysia has quite a few beautiful beaches and islands. You should try places like Langkawi and Redang. They offer snorkeling and scuba diving and things like that. Aside from that, Thailand is more prone to natural disasters. The only thing you need to worry about in Malaysia is probably the sea currents and jellyfish. Langkawi in particular is a duty free island. Me and my family go there to get chocolate. ;-)

i say malaysia is the safest island but thailand has more beaches and natural disasters

While I think both have beautiful islands and beaches, I've only seen pictures of Thailand's beaches, and they were gorgeous. I'd research both online, and perhaps talk to some travel agents. Make sure to read the US State Department's travel info sheets on whichever country you decide to go to (they are at http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/cis/cis_1765.html#s). Happy travels!

i must say thailand has more beautiful beach and island like Kata beach, karon beach, phiphi island, jamesbond island, pattaya beach, surat thani and so on..........
