As a child/teenager (past or present), were u forced by a parent/guardian to get a cut/style you hated?

I think it's happened to all of us at some point in our youths.

What was the reason mommy/daddy/aunty/grandma/etc. forced you to get a new look?

Thought it'd look cute?

As a punishment?

yes,when i was about 5 years old my mom had my hair cut short into a pixie style ..not because it looked good on me, but because she was tired of combing through the tangles in my long hair. I remember crying all through the haircut as my hair was being clipped off.....it was horrible.

yes. Every summer all through elementary school, I got what was called a "summer cut" in the 50's, which was a short page-boy type. I wanted long hair and it took all year to get it there, only to be cut for the summer. The short bangs were the worst! It helped that almost all the other girls got them. It was supposed to cut down on maintenance and being all hot and sweaty in the humid mid west. Looking back, it was kind of cute, like when you see "Scout" on "To Kill a Mockingbird", but I wanted to look like Haley Mills!

when i was a girl, i wasnt very pretty. And i'm not being hard on myself its just.. fact. So i was always self conscious about beign a girl. I was at my aunts and she said 'let me give you a haircut' and i said no no no i begged but she said itdd make me look pretty. She didnt even ask my mom so she went away cuttnig cuttni gand gave me a mullet. She was training to be a barbar. Well task completed, i looked like a boy! i hated my hair so much and the way i looked.

Lets see I forgot how old i was like maybe between the age of 2-5 I had this HIDIOUS boy-cut hair. OMG. I looked like a friggin boy. I dont even know why she gave me it, but I am SOO glad I dont have it. Ugh, worst hair cut possible

yep. when I last visited my grandma she had her personal hairstylest come over to the house and was like "Jessie, your bangs need to be cut." and that didn't work out for her, I didnt let her cut them and she wasnt very happy. and my mom made me cut my hair when I was like 7 years old because it got way too long for swimming, I hated my hair short.

As maximum once you're starting to be up .. your mum and dad pay on your hair to be decrease,, so my hair replaced into very long till i replaced into 8yr then my mom desperate for some unusual reason to have my hair decrease and permed,,why ?? don't be attentive to through fact it replaced into already curly> the saga persisted , with the reasoning that as long as they paid for my hair cuts ,,they needed it decrease. whilst i replaced into in intense college my dad did no longer like bangs so one evening he took them and decrease them off.. how nerve-racking that replaced into.. he did an identical to my brothers,, whilst my young infants have been little he had to trim my sons hair,, he ran!!!! .. and get this he9my dad) has long hair and refuses to diminish it..

my grandma cut my hair so short you might as well have mistaken me as a boy!
