It helps with the scare tactics. Someone who sees life as temporary would have no problems with revolution. They would be willing to sacrifice their already fleeting existence for a greater cause. If you tell them they have an eternal soul that can be punished even after they die, they will probably abort the mission.


Oh. I'm not sure if I answered the question the way you wanted it answered.

We were given a soul by God becasue we had to have something for him to burn for all eternity in Hell and a body wouldn't stand up to it for that long.

Without it we would never of had soul-food or soul-music (though soul-train was a questionable development) or find a soulmate.
