How much more comfortable are the soft contacts lenses compared to hard contact lenses?
I heard that soft are more comfortable then hard lenses. I'm 14 and thinking about getting contacts. Since I'm nearsighted with 275/300 I don't want my eyesight to increase so I still can't decide soft or hard.
How much more comfortable is it?
Thanks

In a matter of opinion, I would suggest soft. You can feel the hard contacts, however there are times that I forget I'm even wearing the soft ones. This isn't completely a good thing though :\
If you intend on wearing them all day, definitely stick with the soft.

Considerably more comfortable. Both on the acclimatisation period, and after that in windy/dusty conditions. About 80% of lenses now fitted are soft.

But gas permeable hard lenses offer in many cases sharper vision, slightly reduced risk of eye infections and sometimes a reduction in the rate of myopia development.

The maximum comfort for gas permeable lenses occurs when they are worn regularly for similar hours every day.

by way of fact advancements can take place so at as quickly as, that's terrific to ask your optician/ophthalmologist approximately what's obtainable and proper for you. My first touch lenses have been purely wearable for 8 hours at a time, accompanied via a minimum of 8 hours without them. My 2d ones i ought to positioned on all day, yet nonetheless had to eliminate them at night. I went returned to wearing glasses because it grew to become into speedier and extra fee-effective. I actual have been wearing glasses on account that i grew to become into 6 years old and that i'm now coming near sixty one. My "test" with touch lenses lasted approximately 5 years. The lenses have been ok, yet having to purchase lens cleansing and wetting suggestions which had a shelf existence of one month grew to become too costly for me.

When I would wear contact they were soft.. I barely knew they were there. So that is what I would recomend I have an aunt who used to use the hard and she said that they were really uncomfortable compared to the soft, she said they didn't seem to move as well with the eye and they also have a higher infection rate
