English definitely. It has become a universal language. In fact English is used in almost all internet websites. You will have difficulty using the internet if you do not know how to speak and write in English. Some non-English speaking countries are now complaining about this especially those with their own scripts or alphabets (chinese, korean, thai, india). In terms of population, Chinese-Mandarin is most spoken.

English. It's becoming really popular around the world. In some countries in Europe, it's mandatory to take English in Elementary school nowadays or something along those lines.

What about body language? Many things can be universally understood by all with a few simple hand gestures or head nods.
Sometimes we just relate well without speaking a word.

Just guessing, but:

Number of people speaking it: Chinese (simply by their population)
