Most schools won't have a problem with you coming back. I know that I wouldn't. Go ahead.

I have seen similar cases like this come and go over the years.
the best thing you can do is place a phone call to your Sensei or stop in and talk to him.
We have many people come and go and return over the years.
Training in karate is a life long pursuit. Do not have shame because you set it down for awhile, instead realize you enjoy it and train.
Rank means nothing, so if you lose your yellow belt, come back as a stronger yellow belt. Focus only on training, not on rank.
The point is this, teachers are people too. Just talk to them. they will most likely be happy to see you.If you don't feel comfortable there or they deny you, check out other schools in your area.
The bottom line is this, if you want to train then choose to train.

I reached brown belt in karate. Broke my ankle and couldn't train for a while and ended up failing my brown and white exam. I never went back and have regretted it ever since. Go back, whats the worst that can happen? You have achieved your yellow belt, they can't actually take that back. Technically I'm still a brown belt even tho I've not been in years now. If they don't let you train there then find another club, don't give up : ) I would like to go back at some point and plan to aswell.

Go back.... IF that's the art you still want to follow. Talk with the instructor. If there seems to be an issue, apologize for your absense (if you feel it's necessary).

I seriously doubt you'll suffer any reprecussions. In today's world, martial arts instruction is a competitive market. People trying to make a living at teaching really can't afford to just toss away good students.

And if this particular school is willing to treat you as you fear.... Doesn't sound like a place you'd want to be anyway.

does'nt sound like you have much faith in your sensei if your worried about approaching him?If you honestly think that it's time to move on anyway,or do you think your being unfair to him?thinking this way, never lone putting on here is showing your lack of respect for him.you should be able to aproach your sensei with anything if you cant he's not a sensei.hey when we take of that gi where human to.any sensei worth two knobs of goat **** isnt going to bite your head of by talking to him.you just have to make sure it's the right time and place.you dont yell out in the middle of class hey sensei did you see my new car.this will make him very displeased.before or after class.and of course show the proper respect.that doesn't mean you have to bow and scrape.above all be honest with your sensei.if he bites your head of for being honest he's not sensei.like i said senseis are human to and noone likes being lied to.
Now after saying that i must add there are a hell of a lot of bad senseis out there.teaching techniques isnt what makes you sensei.unfortunately thats what most ppl believe.being a true sensei is a very big broad picture and has more to do with real life experience inside and outside of martial arts as well as teaching MA.thats what makes me laugh about all these so called MA experts 20 year olds running around with unbelieveable ranks and titles, couldnt fight there way out of a wet paper bag, wouldn't know **** from clay, yet there all knowing, all seeing etc.etc. you cant teach experience or common knowledge.and you cant put brains in a monument.
Yeah long way to answer you question but it should help you make the right decision.
PS.approach dont phone if thats the decision you make.

Dont be such a big girl. Congrats for the medal sounds like you know your trade, agood club will take you back in we all have a life outside our hobbies. If they dont want to know they aren't worth bothering with, dont worry about your belt you are bound to be rusty with time out. Miss a grading train hard take the next get the colour back or even double grade who knows. Good luck.

No you can go back dude, they shouldn't take your current rank away from you since you earned it, but if you let them know that you had some personal things to take care of, then I'm sure they'll be pretty understanding about it and let you continue training.

If you Sensei is an understanding guy it shouldn,t be a problem. the correct, mannerly thing to have done is to have phoned and explained you had an injury and told him you weren,t sure when you were returning to class.I seriously doubt that they will strip you of your grade.go and see him or phone him .good luck

Go back. Its not ur fault that things turned up! Get back, and tell them that u r sorry for not getting back sooner. Never give up. If they were any decent, they would accept you back without stripping you of your belt.
