Does anyone know what the proper attire would be for a wedding reception? I want to wear a black dress, but I'm not too sure on the fashion faux paus. Anyone have any tips?

For a wedding reception, it is usually dressy. So a black dress would be fine, as long as it is modest and not a mini kind of thing with a lot of flesh showing up top.

This is the deal, it is a magic day. The reception and
wedding is the best day of your friends life. People nowadays
map out a route and pick up all the invites, 100% attendance,
with a rented set of tour buses. That is the general idea,
this is a Happiness event. Dress in what is comfortable
because this is also a party.

The perfect black dress would be fine if it is a formal type of wedding. If it is a beach wedding or backyard wedding then probably not. Although a cute black cocktail dress might work!

A black dress is completely fine...if it is a black tie affair (it should say on the invite) then I would recommend floor-length. Otherwise anything is fine.

I ALWAYS WEAR A BLACK DRESS. IF ITS AN EVENING AFFAIR , I WEAR A BLACK GOWN/COCKTAIL DRESS. NEVER EVER WEAR WHITE OR RES. WHITE BECAUSE OF THE BRIDE AND RED IS A POWER COLOR THAT REPRESENTS THE WRONG THING!
