Men put a lot of emphasis on being succesful at things. They get a high from winning a competition or achieving a high-score. Its like a short-lived hit from a drug. They soon need another hit. That's why he spends so much time on there. Explain that to him. Just state as a fact that there's a problem. Tell him he's not in trouble. Just that you'de like him to do fun things with you and the kids.

When you do spend time together, make sure that the things you talk about or do together actually interest him and he's not just doing it because he thinks that's what you want. If he doesn't seem to be interested, don't get mad, just ask him what he likes to do or talk about. Don't talk for too long. I'm not criticising, but women have a habit of doing this. Just do things together or get him to play with the kids.

Ask on here for things you can do in the evenings at home, such as cooking a mexican or italian meal together. Perhaps he could do some more old fashioned things with the kids, like building kits.

Go on dates again and don't talk about the kids or go for a weekend away without the kids, if you can get a baby-sitter. You and him can ask on here about how to put more fun and passion and romance into a relationship.

This article has a few good tips, including 'give your man clear instructions what you want him to do', instead of nagging or expecting him to notice subtle hints.

You might just want to let him play it out. It won't last forever, he will tire of it before long. Though he might just move to PS3 or something else.

You could, of course, talk to him and explain how you feel. You might need to take the first step, make plans to do things...and bring him along.

also think about what you want by 'spending time with the family'....get specific. If he just sat and watched TV is that 'spending' time? Or what?

Tell him everything what you said. The obsession is to nowhere and noting to win.
