I found this recipe in my mom’s recipe box. I have no idea how she came by, but I know this was the house dressing for a restaurant called The Limestone Castle
I don’t know if the restaurant is still there. I do remember the salad dressing was great.
LIMESTONE DRESSING
1/2 Cup sugar
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. dry mustard
1/4 cup vinegar
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 1/2 cups salad oil
1 tsp. paprika
1 small onion
1/2 cup catsup
1 tsp. celery seed
1 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
Put all ingredients in blender except the celery seed. Blend until well mixed. Add
celery seed before storing in a covered jar. Can be made with a mixer by chopping the onion very fine first. This is much like a French dressing. It will not separate and will keep indefinitely in the refrigerator.
Make about 2 1/2 cups of dressing.

Add lettuce, cucumber, tomato, onions, anchivoes, sweet peppers, crumbled feta cheese & kalma olives ( Greek olives & spell check) shake dressing a pour over salad! All salad dressing are made with some kinda oil, vinegar base then you add seasonings.
Raspberry dressing
1 or 2 cup fresh raspberries or 2 cups frozen rasberries,
1 cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 small clove garlic
1/4 cup red wine vinegar

Basic Balsamic Dressing - from About.com
3 tbsp balsamic vinegar
2 tsp dijon mustard
1/4 cup olive oil
dash salt and pepper, to taste
PREPARATION:
Whisk together the vinegar and mustard. Slowly combine in oil until dressing is well mixed and smooth. Add a dash of salt and pepper to taste.
I add fresh herbs as available and like using Seasoned salt and minced garlic. You can add whatever you desire. I love fresh global basil leaves which are small leaves, cilantro and garlic. Depending on what I am serving I may use a milder vinegar and add lime juice. You can vary the oil and the acid (vinegar) to change the taste.
Experiment! You can't really do anything wrong.

It's so easy its rediculous. It's a little tangy, but sweet. It's hard to describe, but I eat it all the time. You can even use it as a marinade on chicken.
4 parts Oil.
Use extra virgin olive oil.
1½ parts Balsamic Vinegar.
Garlic cloves.
Mince the garlic and mix into the oil, and rest for at least several hours to remove the harsh garlic edge. The oil should be used within several days or refrigerated, as garlic will go rancid.
Other possible additions include salt and fresh ground pepper, herbs, mustard, or minced shallots.
I add a dash of Mrs. Dash and its awesome!
Or you can make just Italian and use Oil + Vinegar + Fry Salt (seasoning Salt).

Diet Low-Cal Low-Fat Super Salad Dressing Recipe #1684503 2 servings 1 min 1 min prep Change to: servings US Metric 2 tablespoons kraft fat-free mayonnaise 1 teaspoon mustard (preferably the kind that has no cals) 2 tablespoons water Put the 2 tablespoons of Fat Free Mayo and the mustard into a container and blend with a fork. Add 2 tablespoons of water and blend again. It may seem runny at first, but just stir a little more -- the mayo, since it is fat-free, will emulsify with water instead of oil! Add more or less mustard, water or mayo until you get a consistency and flavor you like. You can certainly also make a bigger batch. I use more like 6T of mayo, 3 tsp of mustard and add water in increments until it is runny enough.
