I'm looking into buying a HDTV, need help in purchasing one. I've been reading guides about finding the "right" one. As of now, I want a 1080p HDTV (don't know the difference between plasma and LCD) but I guess a LCD one because I heard plasma often have problems. Cost isn't a problem, I just want the best one in the market right now. I heard the Sony Bravia line is the best. What HDTVs do you recommend 1080p?

If you want Sony than it's the new X series that you looking for. It has floating glass design that look very nice, you even can change the color of your set to match with your interior design.
And yes it 1080p compatible through its HDMI input

I'm not sure sony bravia lcd tv's come in 1080p. If you truly only want 1080p and if money isn't a problem then I suggest you get a plasma. They're cheaper now than ever before. Of course, in the long term, you'll have burn in problems and some loss in quality, but if you are more aimed towards a secure investment I recommend an LCD. Sharp, JVC and Aquos have 46" LCD tv's with fully capable 1080p from $3000

Unless you have to have a flat panel TV, I would recommend the Sony SXRD models (preferably the new XBR-2 versions). Almost all reviewers have rated it as the best quality picture available in consumer TVs today.
