Was it a non-organic egg? I'm guessing so, as they feed those chickens so many chemicals and drugs that I'm surprised they lay eggs at all! If you can, get proper organic free-range eggs - much tastier, good for you and they're from happy chickens who are eating what they should be, and getting enough exercise. Some chickens are treated like parts in a machine, but some are treated like animals as they should be!

Occasionally, a hen will produce double-yolked eggs throughout her egg-laying career. It is rare, but not unusual, for a young hen to produce an egg with no yolk at all.
