Not bad. Continental has a newer fleet than Delta or United. You can expect your own TV on the back of the seat in front of you. My only gripe is the small size of the seats.

Have fun!

It depends on what plane you are flying in. Continental has upgraded a lot of their planes but not all of them. You can find out what type of plane you will be flying by checking your reservation on the Continental web site. Then go to http://seatguru.com and check their review of the plane itself. They'll list the amenities (entertainment systems, etc) as well as how much space you will get.

Apart from the comfort level, international travel in economy is never the most fun thing in the world. Plan on the plane being packed. If you have one of the dreaded "middle" seats in the center of the plane, plan on being surrounded by people on either side of you. There's rarely more than a handful of empty seats on any International flight with any airline so don't count on getting lucky and having a row to yourself. You probably will not get a blanket and pillow so if that's important to you, bring them in your carry-on or, even better, wear clothes that can double as blanket or pillow. I have a cape-type thing, kind of like a long and heavy shawl, that I wear on a long-haul flight. I can stow it under the seat in front of me if I don't need it or spread it out like a blanket if I get cold. Service is acceptable but not great; don't expect to be pampered. There'll be probably 4-6 flight attendants for 200+ passengers so you won't get a lot of attention. They will feed you, again it won't be an outstanding meal but will be decent and edible. The seats in economy don't tend to recline very far; if you're hoping to sleep on the plane, see if you can get some Ambien or similar sleeping pills from your doctor. Some people try to drink a lot of alcohol so they can sleep through the flight but I don't like doing that on International; you won't feel very good when you get to your destination.

Inquire at the gate to see if you can upgrade; it's not cheap, usually around $500 each way on an International flight but well worth it if you ask me. At-the-gate upgrades are usually not available on International flights but it never hurts to ask. You probably won't get a free upgrade but if you have the opportunity to take a paid upgrade, do it if you can afford it. The extra room and the deeper recline in the seats makes a long-haul flight a whole lot more pleasant.

International economy flights are tough no matter what airline. Be prepared for crowded conditions aboard the plane. You might do well bringing something to help you sleep because you'll be upright the entire trip.
