I get one every couple of years if I run a temperature. It just takes time to heal. If you use Abreva, it will heal a lot faster. It is about $20.00 for a little tube, but I have found that it is definetly worth it.

Use Carmex Ointment. This oinment, is about a dollar .The ointment has ingredients the cures the cold sore. Menthol is a great pain relief. Additives reduces the inflammation. If u have had bad cold, the cold sore, is a reflection of how it made u feel. Kinda like an expression. Get the carmex dear. Not much around the house is a cure. Nip the in the butt.

At this point, nothing you can do, just be patient. Even Abreva is not going to help after 4 days. However, if this becomes a persistent problem, speak to your doctor about Valtrex. It works great if you take it at the first sign of tingling, soreness, way before you get the actual cold sore. It stops it from developing.

The best way is to go to the drug store or health food store,Buy a bottle of Lysine tablets. Take about 3 a day for a few days and your cold sore will be gone. I just treated my Grandson with it,it works everytime and the bottle cost about 4$.

Don't play with it - that is very important! See your pharmacist! No home cure will work!
Good luck!
