You can reliably count on people eating a minimum of a quarter pound each of meat balls. (This is why quarter pounder hamburgers are so popular!) That would mean 7 1/2 pounds, if you want to take exact meansurements.
But some peoples appetites are less than average, while other peoples are greater than average. So to make sure that you have enough, without a chance of running out, I would use 10 pounds.
Meatballs will keep very well in a sealed container in your fridge for 3 or 4 days, so if you have leftovers they needn't go to waste.

You are going to want your meatballs to be at least 1 1/2 to 2 ounces each and have 3-4 per person, more if this is the main item you are serving or if few other dishes are being served to your party. 2x4=8oz per person and 16 oz to a pound so you will need 15 pounds of burger to make that quantity. You can stretch that out a bit further if you are adding other ingredients like onions, peppers, cheeses, bread crumbs, etc to your meatball mix.

3-4 meatballs per person...5-6 meatballs per pound. Youe will have more than enough with 10 pounds. I would get 7-8 pounds.

Here's a recipe - hope it'll help...
"Passover Meatballs" - 6 dozen
2 eggs; lightly beaten
1 cup water; divided
1 1/2 cups finely chopped onion; divided
1/2 cup matzo meal
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
2 lbs. ground beef
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup lemon juice
In a large bowl, combine eggs, 1/2 cup of the water, 1/2 cup of the onion, the matzo meal, salt and pepper. Crumble beef over mixture and mix well. Shape into 1" balls.
In Dutch oven or large pot, combine tomato sauce, sugar, lemon juice and remaining water and onion. Add meatballs; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer 45 minutes or until meat is no longer pink. Serve with slotted spoon.
(NOTE: Matzo meal can be found in the kosher or ethnic section of your grocery store.)

That all depends on what you are doing. Are you serving pasta and a salad, is it a main course or an appt. Is it lunch or dinner.
Rule of thumb 4 to 5oz per person for lunch, 6 to 8oz for dinner. If being served with a pasta cut that in half.
So if you are serving dinner with 8oz perperson equals #15
If you are serving 6oz per person it would be 11.25 #
If its an appt. figure about 5oz per person in bite size meat balls about 1/2 to 1 oz each. Also use 14% fat or less in your beef otherwise when it is done you will have smaller portions.
