1. Good Eats. Alton Brown is humorous, comes up with interesting props (such as his flower pot smoker) and a gadget techie.
2. America's Test Kitchen is also good. The recipes are tested and they have a segment on gadgets.
3. Iron Chef (Fuji TV version) - The Aussie dubbing is hilarious. I wonder if the Japanese commentators are really saying those things or are the Aussie translators ad-libbing.

I like Alton Brown's Good Eats.
He teaches you how to cook, and WHY you do the things you do...in other words, he explains the science of cooking.
Some people are too lazy to be proud of what they cook. Quick and easy is not always good nor healthy.
Care and pride in your cooking shows a lot about your character.
'And, it can be fun

To me someone like Emeril is doing nothing spectacular just basic stuff with some entertainment...
So isn't everyone else....
Some are informative but if you didn't graduate culinary arts like I did you probably wouldn't have a clue what their talking about.
Julia Child was the best in my opinion..
she knew what she was doing...very informative..at a level everyone could understand.
Although...
I do enjoy reading Anthony Bourdains kitchen stories...
I also really like his new show on the travel channel.
so I would have to say...
Julia Child and Anthony Bourdain

Anyone BUT Rachel Ray! She's the most annoying person. She never washes any of her food before cooking it. I'm surprised she hasn't died of salmonella poisoning!

Good Eats with Alton Brown- I love his quirky sense of humor and the ease with how he explains things.
