There is. Statistics can be baised, but they can also be true. So many things have changed in the last 50 years with people and relationships. People need to be just more selective, and not so fast to ignore red flags and jump into seriousely comitted relationships and marriage. We as a society have lost control of ourselves by putting demands on ourselves to get into something prematurely because we have to have it "now".

First of all stats are tricky things, if you've been divorced once you are more likely to get divorced again, and these stats are about how many marriages, not how many people. Also it takes into account things like Hollywood 5 minutes, I want a pretty dress and a diamond ring weddings (they really aren't marriages). The stats on how many first marriages end in divorce are much lower.
Also people today aren't willing to work on things, they are lazy and think that everything will be perfect, and become disillusioned when things go wrong. All in all true love exists but you have to work really hard on it. That whole if it don't come easy thing is not true.

It has more to do with the attitude and beliefs of the couple. Most people I know don't have lasting problems and I only know a few who have been divorsed. I met my wife in mid August, we were engaged in Oct, and married in Jan. We are BEST friends and divorce has never even been an option for us... the worst problem this world has no is it is used as an out of hard times. The hard times are what cement you together. If you don't know any happily married people you need a different group of friends

Logic. You don't love with your brain, you love with your heart. So, stop looking at it in terms of statistics, numbers, and odds. Open your heart to a girl, but not just any girl either. I know plenty of people who die together. In this past year alone, I have been to 6 "50th" year anniversaries, 2 "60th", and 1 "80th"! So true love exists, you just have to look for it and never give up. Best of luck sweetheart and keep your chin up...it always seems darkest before dawn.

Romantic love does exist. The "spark" fades in any relationship, but what takes its place is a comfortable secure feeling of knowing you love and are loved and have someone you can depend on.
