JOHN ROWLES
John Rowles, 82, of Fort Dodge, died April 13, 2005, at his home.
Services will be held 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 16, 2005, at the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. David A. Feltman and CLP Marcia Rich officiating. Military honors will be presented by V.F.W. Post No. 1856. The visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.

JUNE ROWLES
June E. Rowles, 85, of Fort Dodge, died June 18, 2005, at her home, following a lengthy battle with Parkinson?s Disease.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 22, at the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. David A. Feltman and CLP Marcia Rich officiating. Interment will be in North Lawn Cemetery. The visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
June is survived by her children, Paul (Vada) Packer, Ft. Atkinson, Iowa; Beth (Larry) Brethorst, Peoria, Ill.; Julie (John) Lagodney, Naperville, Ill.; Mary (David) Breen, Minneapolis, Minn.; four grandchildren, John Jr., and his fiance Alyssa, Jessica, Davis and Delaney. June is also survived by much family, friends and her loving caregivers. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband John.
June Elaine Howard was born February 21, 1920, at Lohrville. She graduated from Lohrville High School. June was an accomplished soprano, winning state and national contests in high school. In 1956, she was united in marriage to John Rowles. During her vocal career, June performed as a guest soloist with Lawrence Welk and Billy Graham. June was one of the first women invited to join the Fort Dodge Men?s Civic Glee Club, of which she was a member for 30 years. She was instrumental in spearheading the performances of the Karl King Band and Civic Glee Club as one of three groups representing Iowa in Washington D.C. during the nation?s bi-centennial. June also placed a bi-centennial wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. She was a regular soloist with the Karl King Band.
For 20 years, June served as co-host, with her husband, at their Annual Threshing Bee. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, the Order of Eastern Star and the Women?s Club. She served as an accompanist for many different organizations.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Karl King Band.
