back then, trading was BIG. every where you'd go, you'd see people trading items. the silk road had an impact on China because many people (especially traders from the middle east) were interested in the silk that the chinese made. so they they traded stuff for silk. not only did they trade silk, but ideas from other civilizations, like math and science

It was an easier way for foreigners to get to their country. It brought new business, new items, new food, and new diseases.
