Hi,

For the past couple of months I have been trying to figure out why I have been getting so many sore throats. It seems like my throat puffs up and it is very painful. It goes away in 2-8 hours. I have been trying to keep track of what I eat. The other day I had a turkey sandwich. My throat started to get really painful so I knew it was the bread or turkey. Then today I just ate the bread and it did the same thing so I now know it is something in the bread. It is called "Potato Bread". Anyone have any idea what I could be allergic to in this bread? Is there a common allergy?

Thanks,
Kimberley

potatoe is not a common allergy and is most likely not causing any problems. the only other ingredients are flour and butter or margerine. wheat and dairy are very common allergies, margerine has dairy in it too (whey powder). get an allergy test done, it is easier than finding out by yourself. some reactions take a day or two depending on your metabolism. you still need to do some isolating to find out what causes reactions from the list they will give you but at least its a starting point. you would be suprised how many hidden ingredience there are in food. for example most deli meat contains wheat and dairy and so do most boxed foods. good luck!

this may be an allergy or a sensitivity. I am not allergic to wheat but when I eat white bread I get the worst belly ache as well as gassy. All bread products have ingredient list on the label look on there and see if there is something in this bread as compared to bread you have eaten with no difficulty, it is very possible that it is a particular preservative rather than fresh ingredients, also you should talk to your doctor about this as well

potatos, gluten, milk, eggs, soy... It could be any of the ingrediants in the bread. I would start by eating white potatos and see if the same thing happens, if it does than eliminate white potatos from your diet. Do this with each of the major ingrediants in the bread. You will find the trigger.

If you don't wish to go through this very timely process find an allergist and ask them to test you for the major ingrediants in your bread.
