Read it again. He cursed Ham not all three of his sons. Noah became drunk and lay naked in his tent. Ham went in and "saw" his father's nakedness. I have heard many Pastors say that if one studied this out it would mean that Ham actually sexually abused his father . Anyway Ham did bring shame to his father and since these were the only people left on earth it was necessary to stop acts such as Ham's at the very beginning, after all the reason they were the lone residents of planet earth were because of rampant, unchecked sin.

Noah actually only cursed Ham, because Ham told his brothers instead off covering Noah up. When his brothers heard that, they covered Noah without looking at him. It can be guessed that Ham ridiculed Noah when he told his brothers, though the text does not immediately suggest this.

Leviticus 18:7 The nakedness of thy father, or the nakedness of thy mother, shalt thou not uncover: she is thy mother; thou shalt not uncover her nakedness.

It did not matter that both sons were trying to cover up their Father Noah, when they walked backwards and did not look again when they covered him up. He was ashamed that they saw him like that.

It would have been better if the first son just walked out of where his Father was sleeping naked, and had not said anything to his brother. They caused their Father to feel very ashamed when he realized that they both saw His nakedness.

Because when he told them to come with him onto the great arc, they refused, saying that they would go on the highest mountain and not drown, rather than going on Noah's arc.

Not the ones who covered him, the one who found him in that state, and rather than discreetly covering him, went snickering to his Brothers. It was that son who was cursed.

Genesis 9:20-25 tells us, "Noah, a guy of the soil, proceeded to plant a vineyard. while he drank a number of its wine, he became under the impression of alcohol and lay uncovered interior his tent. Ham, the father of Canaan, observed his father's nakedness and advised his 2 brothers outdoors. yet Shem and Japheth took a garment and laid it in the time of their shoulders; then they walked in backward and coated their father's nakedness. Their faces have been became any opposite direction so as that they does not see their father's nakedness. while Noah wakened from his wine and found out what his youngest son had executed to him, he suggested, "Cursed be Canaan! the backside of slaves will he be to his brothers." Why did Noah curse Canaan while it became into Ham who observed him bare? Why became into Noah so indignant that Ham observed him bare? some propose that Ham and/or Canaan extremely did something to Noah as nicely to seeing him bare. The passage mentions that Noah became into indignant while he found out, "what his youngest son had executed to him." Homosexuality, rape, and humiliation are frequently stated as opportunities. even with the undeniable fact that, the textual content cloth nowhere states that Ham did something to Noah. this way of view of what befell is concept. yet another view arises out of assessment with Leviticus 20:11, "the guy who lies along with his father's spouse has uncovered his father's nakedness..." With Leviticus 20:11 in recommendations, some propose that Ham had intercourse with Noah's spouse, and that became into what delivered the curse from Noah. even with the undeniable fact that, this figurative recognize-how of "uncovering nakedness" fails to account for the actuality that Shem and Japheth walked into the room backward and coated Noah with a garment. this does not make any experience if "uncovering nakedness" capacity "having intercourse with Noah's spouse." It actually seems that Noah became into mendacity bare—his nakedness uncovered. regardless of befell between Ham and Noah, why did Noah curse Ham's son Canaan, while Canaan is nowhere stated as having executed something? The Bible does not exceedingly answer this question. Ham became into Noah's youngest son, and Canaan became into Ham's youngest son. in line with threat Noah cursed Canaan for the reason that's greater painful for a father to ensure his baby go through than that's for a father to go through himself. the different possible clarification is that Canaan became into in a roundabout way in contact contained in the incident, thereby bringing Noah's curse upon himself.
