i'm trying to help my low mood. but when i'm walking i just feel lonely + wonder why i'm walking to nowhere special. if i go to the gym i just feel sweaty + dusty afterwards + wonder what it was all about. where am i going wrong?

You need to push yourself further. aim to break a sweat. Get your heart rate up. This will boost the endorphins in your brain, and you will feel better about yourself.

Two things; 1. you are not allowing your body to get adequate recovery after working out. Go to the gym every OTHER DAY.
2. Sound like you are doing too much all at once. Break up your gym visit to morning and evening. The body like exercise, but it NEEDS rest to recover and grow stronger.

PS Walking is a waste of time, especially if you are mildly depressed. You need to get the metabolism up higher, such as stairclimbing.

Perhaps the gym isn't for you. Can you think of an activity to do with other people ? It needn't be exercise, but something to interact with people. How about line dancing. You don't need a partner and it's ok if you are useless at it. Keep your pecker up.

perhaps you havnt worked out hard enough, try to set some goal of loosing wiehgt or toning your body and watch for the change, it wont happen overnight, but in time you will notice the difference.

I used to have that problem too.

Now when I look back at photos I realise just how slim and muscular I was.

Keep at it though and aim to have yourself drenched in sweat and the rewards will come.I promise =)
